The first ever baseball game at San Diego's Petco Park had the University of Houston Cougers challenging the San Diego State University Aztecs -- the local team won 4-0. We enjoyed our first chance to watch a game from our season ticket seats. Here are a few of my photos. Click the small photos to see larger (each is 700x525, under 70K).

Petco Park A few hundred of our closest friends, and us, awaiting the gates of the Park to open. A little over 40,000 attended this game, the most ever to see a college baseball game.

Petco Park The former president of the Padres throws out the First Pitch, assisted by Petco's mascot dog. Mister Padre Tony Gwynn scoops up the low throw. He's now the coach of the Aztecs; he received his undergraduate degree at San Diego State about 1980 while starring in baseball and basketball.
